Long Haul is a full-service mobile bicycle shop, specializing in eBikes. We offer any mechanical service your bike will need, and we try our best to fix any and all electrical issues with your eBike (Class 1, 2, or 3). Best of all, we come to you and repair your bicycle on the spot. The vast majority of repairs can be completed in one single visit. Certain complex services, such as wheel builds and suspension service, may require an additional visit. Contact us for details.
We service all brands of eBikes. If your eBike is having electrical problems, repairability may depend on the manufacturer support and the availability of replacement parts. Please see our page on electronic repair if you are having electrical problems with your eBike.

We are proud to service e-bikes in hundreds of zip codes around the Twin Cities metro area! We will come out to any location in our service area for one flat truck fee. If you have multiple bikes to be worked on at one location you only pay one truck fee for all of them. See pricing for more information

How it Works:

Contact Us
All repairs are scheduled ahead of time. To request an appointment please fill out the schedule request form. During this process you may request an initial estimate. You can request a specific date if you like, or just ask for the closest available time. Sorry, no morning appointments.

Schedule
We will work with your schedule to find an available window of time for us to come to your home or other location of your choosing within our service area. Due to the nature of repairs, we need at least a 2-hour window for the arrival time. Additionally, we are a strictly mobile business and do not have a way for you to come to us.

We come to you
On the day of the appointment we text, or call, with an exact ETA when we are on the way. All service is performed on site inside the company truck. If additional issues arise while we are servicing your bicycle, we will contact you before proceeding with anything that would incur costs above the estimate. When the service is complete we will go over what work was done and settle up on the bill.
Pricing
All appointments will include one truck fee, one shop supply charge per bike, and the first 30 minutes of labor.
Labor rate is $160 per hour, rounding to the nearest 15 minute increment.
Truck fee is $38.
Shop supplies charge $7
Parts cost will vary depending on what is needed (if any parts are needed)
(Sales tax only applies to parts and accessories.)
If there are multiple bikes to be worked on at one location, whether they are yours or belong to friends and family, there is only one truck fee for the appointment.

Our tune up package includes the following:
Cleaning and lubrication of your bike; carefully checking it over for any damage; adjustment of the following systems: brakes, shifting, headset, bottom bracket and hubs; torque checking all accessible fasteners; test of all electronics; and a road test to make sure everything is performing as it should under riding load. Labor for replacing brake pads is included in a tune up, any other component replacements or installs are extra labor.
Some bikes such as cargo bikes or trikes will have higher labor charges.

Ordered a new e-bike online and want it assembled and tuned by a professional? Assembling new bicycles usually takes 1-2 hours. This includes the assembly of parts as well as all the adjustments and fastener checks of a tune up (see tune-up above). Trikes, recumbents, and other larger and more complex bikes can take longer and will incur extra labor. An extra fee will be assessed for disposing of the box and packing materials. Note: Long Haul does not pack up bikes into a box for shipping.

Tube and tire service (fixing a flat tire) can be completed in half an hour or less the vast majority of the time. One or two simple repairs like tightening up both brakes, or adjusting the shifting, can also generally be done in half an hour or less.

If your eBike has an electronic problem and needs diagnostics please see our electronic diagnostics pagee. If your ebike’s manufacturer has already provided a replacement part, Long Haul eBike Repair is happy to install it. We do not install or work on custom electronic modifications not intended by the manufacturer. Installing most electronic components can be done in 30 to 60 minutes of labor.

Long Haul offers professional custom wheel building as well as broken spoke replacement. Not every wheel can be trued back into shape, however. If the rim is badly bent , or you have had multiple spokes break in a wheel that often means that the rim and spokes must be replaced. (on a bicycle “rim” refers to only the metal hoop that is in between the spokes and the tire, not the whole wheel like a car). In our experience when e-bike wheels (especially rear hub motor drive wheels) keep on breaking spokes it is best to replace the rim and spokes and have the wheel rebuilt by hand. We have seen this put an end to constantly breaking spokes on many e-bikes. Contact us if you have any questions about wheel building or spoke replacement.
